“While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down”.
Biden explained that, it is best for him to focus solely on fulfilling his duties as President for the few months left.
Biden’s term as President of the United States will elapse on January 20, 2025.
The Sunday decision by US President Joe Biden is premised on concerns bothering on his health and mental stability.
Also, there has been an increasing pressure from party members calling on Biden’s withdrawal from the race.
Members of Biden’s party have lost confidence in his candidacy and capacity to challenge Donald Trump in the coming polls.
Recall that Biden could not challenge the former president’s numerous false statements against him in the June 27th presidential debate.
