Uncovering the Truth Behind Alleged Murder Rumors Involving Son Of Borno Governor
Few hours ago, the social media went agog over the involvement of Borno State Governor’s Son, Umara Zullum in the Murder of a Chinese National at India.
Haplessly, there have been several contradictory reports on this emerging and developing incident. Nigerians both within the country and abroad are confused on which is true and which isn’t.
In a report by popular media outfit, Sahara Reporters, it confirmed that the Son of Borno State Governor murdered a Chinese National at a nightclub in India.
Sahara Reporters said the family source confirmed that the boy is currently in detention in India.
On hearing this emerging reports, I as the head of editorial had immediately placed a call to one of Zullum’s Commissioners. She told me in confidence that it was a lie and rumour without any iota of truth.
I had also received a statement signed and released by the SSA to Governor Zullum on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi.
The Governor’s media Aide condemned and dismissed the rumours. He says there is no son of Governor Zullum that has been arrested or in detention over murder.
Abdurrahman explained that Zullum has been out of the country for vacation in Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj and later attended a conference in Egypt.
In the contradictory reports by a family source who spoke to Sahara Reporters, the Governor had just returned from a Pakistan workshop and was billed to travel to the United States.
But he immediately left for India after the news of his son’s murder reached him. The Son of Zullum is a Student at New Delhi, India.
Until now, no statement or reaction has been made by the Governor to clarify the situation.
