Court of Appeal Dismisses PDP Appeal, Affirms Hope Uzodinma As Imo Governor

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma of All Progressive Congress has won the case challenging his victory at the Appeal Court.

The judgement was delivered on Tuesday in Abuja. The court rejected the appeal filed by the people’s democratic party and it’s candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, that of the Labour Party, its candidate, Achonu Nneji and Allied Peoples Movement appeals.

According to the ruling by Appeal Court, it states that the appeal lacked merit as all issues presented were already resolved.

The court of appeal had in its judgement upheld the decision of the election tribunal.

The tribunal had declared Gov. Uzodinma as the rightfully elected winner of the imo Guber Polls.

Additionally, the court added that the PDP failed to present a convincing argument to invalidate Uzodimma’s victory.
