Tinubu Receives ALSCON Mgmt, Assures Investment In Aluminum, Steel
President Tinubu has emphasized on the need for clear vision, detailed plans and timelines in the steel and energy sector.
He made the statement at the State House in Abuja, while receiving management of the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON).
The delegation was led by the Chairman of ALSCON, Mr. Alexey Arnautov. Tunubu in his statement assured Smelter that his government was keen on reviving the company in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.
During the meeting, President Tinubu however directed Prince Shuaibu Audu, the Minister of Steel Development and Ms. Olu Verheijen, the S.A to the President on Energy to review and provide an update on the status of ALSCON.
Also speaking during the meeting, the ALSCON Chairman stated that the management was aware of the centrality of aluminium.
He said it is important to modern development particularly for Nigeria as it would continue to support the growth of the country.
Arnautov added that by injecting $500million, the management assures to turn around the fortunes of the company within a given period.
