Dangote Refinery Eyes Import of Crude From African Countries
The Vice President of Dangote Industry Limited, Devakumar Edwin has said it is looking at importing crude from Libya, Angola and other African countries.
This was confirmed in an interview organized by Reuters on sunday with Devakumar Edwin. According to Edwin, it is looking to increase production in the 650,000 barrel per-day facility.
Devakumar says they are talking to Libya about importing crude. “We will talk to Angola, as well and some other countries in Africa,” he added.
According to Dangote refinery, the challenge of insufficient local supply has reinforced the need to look elsewhere for crude.
Recently, Dangote refinery has been top on national discourse. Recall the statement alleging dangote refinery of producing inferior products by Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
The controversy came at the time, when Dangote Refinery considered crude from US and Brazil.
