‘Single Mum Not What Everyone Should Pray For’ – Actress Bimpe Akintunde Opens Up
Bimpe Akintunde, a prominent figure in Nollywood, recently discussed the difficulties faced by single parents, particularly women, shedding light on the significant impact it can have on their lives.
In a candid conversation with Biola Bayo on the Talk To B podcast, Akintunde expressed her perspective, highlighting that single parenthood is often not a choice but a reality that many individuals find themselves in unexpectedly.
Furthermore, Bimpe urged men to step up and take accountability when they are involved in situations that lead to women becoming single parents.
She said: “Single mum isn’t what anyone prays for; there is nothing that kills a woman faster than single parenting. Men are polygamous in nature. Any man that puts a lady in a family way, whether knowingly or unknowingly, should take responsibility”.
Bimpe also disclosed that upon meeting her, individuals are often taken aback by her serene and pleasant demeanour, which contrasts with the roles she portrays in movies.
The proud mother clarified that Wasila Coded is merely a fictional character, while her real name is Bimpe Akintunde.
“When people meet me, they are like they don’t know I am this calm nice and think I am always breaking bottles, but I told them Wasila Coded is just a character, Bimpe Akintunde is my name,” she said.
