Popular Nollywood Actor, Junior Pope Dies In Boat Accident
The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning as Junior Pope Odonwodo, known as Jnr Pope in the Nollywood, is reported dead.
Reports indicate that Junior Pope tragically lost his life on Wednesday afternoon while on a boat trip for a film shoot.
Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, verified the sad development to Channels Television on Wednesday stating that the actor’s body has been taken to the morgue.
He further mentioned that one crew member was also found dead while the bodies of three other crew members are still missing following a boat collision on the River Niger in Anambra State.
Nation Post understands that Junior Pope had earlier taken to his social media page and uploaded a video of himself in a speed boat with no life jacket on with the caption: “See me lamenting the risk we take to entertain you, crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…who does that?” (sic)
His colleagues in the Nollywood industry and concerned Nigerians have been sending their condolences to the family of the deceased via their different social media pages.
