I Am Not Desperate To Become President – Peter Obi
Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) has stated that his aspiration for the presidency in 2027 is not driven by desperation.

Instead, he expressed his sincere desire to uplift the impoverished and less privileged citizens of Nigeria who are currently facing challenging circumstances.

Nation Post reports that Obi revealed this during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday (today).

Obi also expressed his concern over the tendency of certain individuals to avoid engaging in discussions about the critical issues that the country is currently grappling with.

“We live in a system where public office holders and politicians are only seen during elections. I can tell you that it is an everyday job. I have said it several times that I am not desperate to become the president of Nigeria. But I am desperate to see the poor and less privileged Nigerians being pulled out of their difficult situation daily.

“That is what I am desperate to see. And all of us can do it as well. You can’t even be happy or fulfilled when several million (Nigerians) don’t know where the next meal will come from,” he said.
