Bobrisky Pleads Guilty To Naira Abuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought a well-known Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
During the proceedings on Friday (today), Bobrisky pleaded guilty to the first four counts, which were related to Naira abuse.
However, prior to the charge being read, the EFCC’s counsel, Suleiman Suleiman, requested the court to dismiss counts five and six, which pertained to allegations of money laundering.
Responding to this request, Justice Abimbola Awogboro struck out counts five and six, thereby allowing Bobrisky to be arraigned solely on counts one to four.
When the counts were read, Bobrisky, who was asked if he understood the charge that was read to him, said: “Yes, I am guilty”.
