Wike Inspect FCT Projects To Be Commissioned By President Tinubu Soon

The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, HE Nyesome Wike had on Saturday inspected completed and ongoing projects in the territory. During the inspection, he commended the contractors for keeping their promise to complete the projects by May 2024.

Nation Post reveals that the Honorable Minister had mounted pressure on the contractors to ensure the projects are completed in May. According to Wike, the projects would be used to showcase the achievements of President Tinubu’s 100 days in office which will be celebrated in May 2024.

The projects which are already 98percent completed includes,
– Construction of the Southern Parkway from the Christian Centre to Ring Road 1.
– Full scope development of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) from Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1.
– Construction of the Vice President’s official residence.
– Completion of B6 and B12 Circle Road, also known as Independence and Constitution Avenue.
– Full scope development of the Arterial Road, N20 from Northern Parkway (Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Expressway) to Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Mohammed Expressway).

The FCT Minister also confirmed that other ongoing projects in the nation’s capital, including the Guzape Lot II District Infrastructure and the Wuye Interchange would be ready for commissioning by May.

Nation Post Correspondent engaged an assessment conversation with Abuja Residents on the nature of the projects. Speaking with one Mr. Kefas in Asokoro, he explained that the new constructions where indeed fast, standard in quality and will help improve safety and commuting.

Another explained that during the construction by the contractor, they where made to suffer as a result of traffic jams and all sorts of hardship especially in times when fuel was scarce.

She explained that the contractors would have made alternatives and possibly work during the nights to prevent Abuja residents from the hardship which the construction activities created.
