Presidency Attacks Obi Over Misleading Statistics, Sponsor Of Planned Protest
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga has said Peter Obi is releasing misleading statistics to work up his mob plotting to destabilize the country from next week.
Onanuga made the statement in a post on X while responding to a recent statistics released by Peter Obi on the economic retrogressions in the nation’s GDP since 2015.
Bayo explained that the motive is clear. His post reads, “Labour Party failed presidential candidate, Peter Obi has come up with his misleading, half-truth statistics again.”
“The big question is why this economic review at this time?. The motive is clear: he wants to work up his mob plotting to destabilize the country from next week.” Onanuga added.
Few hours ago, Peter Obi released a statistics on the nation’s GDP via his X account.
Obi stated that the country since 1999 had maintained an average GDP growth of about 6.72% for 16 years from 1999-2014.
He said it is unfortunate that the growth was not sustained by the then-new government which collapsed the nation’s GDP growth to 2.79% in 2015.
In 2016, Nigeria was already in a turmoil of economic recession with a negative growth of -1.58% and 0.82% in 2017.
