US: Lawmakers Call For Resign Of Secret Service Chief
Lawmakers from both parties have required the immediate resignation of US Secret Service Chief, Kimberly Cheatle.
The call was made during the hearing by a bipartisan House Commitee over the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
Speaking in response to the shooting, Kimberly said it was the most significant operational failure of the Secret Service recorded in decades.
Cheatle who has spent 29years in the Secret Service job declined calls for her resignation by the Congress.
She stated that the matter is under investigation and as such would not accommodate any comment by her.
The candidate of the Republican party in the ongoing US presidential elections, Donald Trump was injured in a failed assassination attempt.
Although, one person was killed and about 2other persons had sustained injury. It was confirmed that witnesses reached out to the secret service, reporting a man with a rifle on a rooftop, but was ignored.
