President Tinubu To address National Assembly On Wednesday

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to deliver a speech to the members of the National Assembly in a joint session on Wednesday, as confirmed by the clerk of the National Assembly, Sani Tambawal.

In an official statement released early Tuesday, Tambawal announced that the president will address the legislators in the recently refurbished chamber to commemorate 25 years of democracy.

“This is to inform Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members that as part of the event to commemorate 25 years of unbroken democracy and Legislature in Nigeria, there will be a joint sitting of both the Senate and the House of Representatives on Wednesday 29 May, 2024.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, will address the joint sitting on state of the Nation and also commission the National Assembly Library.

“Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members are expected to be seated by 9 a.m,” the communique reads.

Nation Post recalls that President Tinubu had earlier ordered a low-key celebration of his first year in office.

Meanwhile, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has provided a new update on the status of the Nigeria Air Project.

Nation Post Confirmed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday. According to Festus Keyamo, the Nigeria Air Project remains suspended.

The suspension may continue to reinforce fierce eyebrows from stakeholders over the ownership arrangement and equity.

In June 2023, the House of Representatives alleged fraud in the Nigeria Air Project and sought its suspension.

Recall 2023 and less than four days to the end of former president Buhari’s administration. The then Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, announced the Nigeria Air as one of President’s monumental achievements. But until now, the project is yet to take off.
