Nigeria's Victor Moses Departs Russian Club, Spartak Moscow

A Nigerian professional footballer, Victor Moses, is finally departing from the Russian Premier League, Spartak Moscow.

The club confirmed this in a statement released on its official website on Monday.

It said: “Official: Victor Moses is leaving Spartak at the end of the season,” reads the message.

“Two-time medalist of the Russian Championship, winner of the Russian Cup, one of the heroes of the group stage of the Europa League 2021/22.

“We thank Victor for the years spent in our club. We wish you success and good luck!”

Nation Post understands that Moses initially joined Spartak on a temporary basis before securing a long-term contract with the club.

The talented winger bid farewell to the team after his final game against Rubin Kazan on Sunday.

Throughout his time at the club, the 33-year-old showcased his skills in 84 matches across various competitions, contributing to 20 goals.

In other news, Bayern Munich is reportedly contemplating hiring Burnley manager Vincent Kompany for the open coaching position at the Bundesliga club.

Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the German team has held talks about the Belgian coach but may have to compete with other suitors for his services.

After Roberto De Zerbi’s departure from Brighton was confirmed last week, the Seagulls are reportedly eyeing a potential move for Burnley’s manager.

Despite Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League this season, Vincent Kompany’s reputation remains strong. The former Manchester City star managed to enhance his team’s displays towards the latter part of the campaign, although it wasn’t enough to prevent their drop to the Championship.

At 38 years old, Kompany attracted significant attention for his efforts last as Burnley emerged as one of the most formidable teams in Championship history, accumulating 101 points, the sixth-highest total in the division’s history.

Whether Kompany will depart Burnley is uncertain, and a potential to Bayern Munich would undoubtedly surprise many.
