Leicester City Returns To Premier League After Leeds' Woeful Defeat

Leicester City secured promotion to the Premier League on Friday following Leeds United’s unexpected 4-0 loss to Queens Park Rangers.

Leicester now leads the Championship with 94 points and two games remaining, while Leeds remains in second place with 90 points and only one game left.

With 89 points and three games left, Ipswich Town is in third place. However, it still has a chance to overtake Leeds for the second automatic promotion spot.

Enzo Maresca’s team achieved promotion in their first season after being relegated from the Premier League last year. Their next matches are against Preston on Monday and Blackburn on May 4.

Ipswich could secure promotion if they win against Hull on Saturday, or if Coventry wins their postponed match on Tuesday.

If Ipswich wins both games, they will be promoted, and Leeds will have to compete in the play-offs. Queens Park Rangers’ victory over Leeds, with goals from Ilias Chair, Lucas Andersen, Lyndon Dykes, and Sam Field, ensured their survival in the Championship.
