Alleged Fraud: EFCC Barricade Kogi Ex-Gov Yahaya Bello’s House In Abuja

The residence of former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello in Wuse, Abuja, has been sealed off by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Nation Post understands that the anti-graft agency’s action came shortly after the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, as reported by SaharaReporters.

Currently, no movement is allowed near the house at Benghazi Street, Wuse Zone 4, in the federal capital of the nation.

A reliable source who spoke to journalists on Wednesday about the development shared a photograph showing EFCC operatives blocking the access road to Bello’s residence.

“EFCC barricades Bello’ house in Abuja. No movement in the area as EFCC barricaded the house. They are yet to gain access,” the source said.

The undisclosed motive behind the anti-graft agency’s raid on the former governor’s residence may be connected to the ongoing ₦84 billion fraud case being prosecuted by the EFCC.

It is important to note that the EFCC had previously filed charges against the former governor, alleging his involvement in financial fraud amounting to ₦84 billion.

In a revised charge, the anti-graft commission accused Bello of diverting ₦80 billion of state funds in September 2015, which was four months prior to his assumption of office.
