Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has revealed that Nigerians in the South-East region are not participating in the nationwide hunger protests because they know it might be hijacked by unscrupulous elements.

Uzodinma said this in a statement on Friday while expressing his satisfaction that the Igbos abstained from joining the protests.

Uzodimma acknowledged that while citizens have the right to protest peacefully, he believes President Bola Tinubu is actively working to address the nation’s issues.

He also accused certain politicians, who he claims have contributed to Nigeria’s economic problems, of orchestrating the protests.

Uzodimma, who also serves as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum, commended the South-East for prioritizing safety and stability.

He argued that rather than protesting, Nigerians should support President Tinubu’s efforts to resolve the country’s challenges through dialogue.

He emphasized that President Tinubu has shown commitment and compassion in tackling these inherited issues, urging Nigerians to unite and back the administration’s efforts to build a more prosperous future.
