Tinubu Returns To Nigeria Amid Worries Of His Whereabouts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived back in Nigeria amid concerns about his whereabouts.

Nation Post understands that there have been earlier speculations about the Nigerian leader’s sudden disappearance from Aso Rock and public events.

However, Tinubu was welcomed back into the country during the early hours of Wednesday, May 8, following a two-week trip abroad for official and personal reasons.

Recall that Tinubu left Abuja on April 23, heading to the Netherlands upon an invitation from Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte for economic and diplomatic discussions.

He landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja around 1:45am.

The President’s return was confirmed by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday morning, where he simply stated, “Welcome Home Mr. President!”.

During his time in the Netherlands, Tinubu engaged in productive discussions with Prime Minister Rutte on various topics of shared interest between Nigeria and the Netherlands.

Additionally, he also had separate meetings with His Royal Majesty, King Willem-Alexander, and Queen Maxima of the Kingdom.

President Tinubu, accompanied by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, made a statement during his visit to the Netherlands. He also took part in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, which brought together leaders of corporations and organizations from both nations.

Following his activities in the Netherlands, President Tinubu travelled to Saudi Arabia, where he participated in a Special World Economic Forum meeting in Riyadh, held from April 28 to 29.

The forum focused on the theme of “Global collaboration, growth and energy for development,” and gathered leaders from various industries to discuss strategies for global development.

After the conclusion of the summit, President Tinubu did not immediately return to the country, opting instead for a private visit. While no official statement was released regarding his subsequent engagements, sources from the Presidency confirmed that he proceeded to London for a private visit.
