President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Umar Ibrahim Mohammed as DG of Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency(NIHSA).

This was confirmed in a statement on Saturday by Ajuri Ngelale, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

President Tinubu tasked the new NIHSA DG to work towards improving the Agency’s operations and maintenance of hydrological stations nationwide.

Umar Ibrahim Mohammed is also required to carry out ground water exploration and monitoring through the adoption of various scientific techniques.

The maintained that the required efforts are crucial for providing hydrological and hydrogeologic data.

These data is needed for planning, design execution and management of water resources as well as related projects.

Umar Ibrahim Mohammed is an expert in construction technology and environmental management from Bauchi State.

The renowned Architect served as the Chief Architect at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources. He has also worked with the world bank as a Senior Consultant for its Water and Sanitation Program.
