Resign Now – APC Stakeholders Tell Ganduje
The Forum of Stakeholders within the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has strongly recommended that the embattled national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, step down from his position.
Speaking during an interview with journalists in Jos on Tuesday, the North-Central chairman of the forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, expressed concerns over the conflicting opinions regarding Ganduje’s leadership within the party, highlighting that the party’s stability is at risk if he continues to hold his position.
He also questioned the rationale behind the North-West stakeholders’ vote of confidence in Ganduje, warning that such decisions could lead to significant turmoil within the party.
Zazzaga said: “There have been several votes of no confidence passed on Ganduje from his Kano Ward, as well as other protests and litigations, among other agitations against him.
“But his insistence on remaining in office will only take the APC backwards and tear the party apart. Ganduje already has a lot of issues surrounding him, and the best thing for him is to quit so that he doesn’t cause any harm or constitute a legal liability for the party,” Zazzaga stressed.”
Zazzaga, a former member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council during the previous general election, emphasized the importance of allocating the position of the national chairman of the party to the North-Central region. He urged the party to seriously consider the idea of zoning it to the region.
“Based on party arrangements, someone from North-Central should have replaced the former national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, not Ganduje, who is from the North-West. In the spirit of fairness and equity, the chairmanship position should be occupied by someone from the north-central region. We are also part of the ruling party and have played a key role in the emergence of President Bola Tinubu,” he maintained.
