Tinubu Orders MDAs To Procure CNG-Powered Vehicles

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially designated April 7 as National Police Day.

Nation Post reports that Vice President Kashim Shettima made this announcement during the inaugural award and commendations ceremony organized by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Abuja on Monday evening.

In his address titled “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” VP Shettima acknowledged the immense challenges faced by Nigeria’s security apparatus and commended the citizens for their resilience in the face of security threats and attacks on their lives and livelihoods, attributing this endurance to the unwavering dedication of the police.

He emphasized that his administration has been clear in its determination to modernize the Nigeria Police Force and make it a professional and accountable institution that reflects the nation’s aspirations and values.

Furthermore, he outlined some of the extensive reforms implemented by his administration to revitalize the police force, which include investing in training and capacity-building.

He stated that these measures will guarantee that police officers are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, values, and expertise to address the intricate challenges of contemporary law enforcement. Additionally, the government will upgrade equipment and technology to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the force.
