Kwara Teenage Student Scores 362 In 2024 UTME
Olukayode Victor Olusola, a student at Government Secondary School, Omu Aran, Kwara State, has achieved an impressive score of 362 in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This places him among the top contenders for the highest scores in the examination.
It is worth noting that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) was sceptical about announcing the highest scorer for this year’s UTME to avoid confusion.
However, Olukayode’s achievement is certainly worth celebrating, as it is one of the highest scores in recent years.
He obtained 95 marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and 77 marks in English Language.
It is noteworthy that Olukayode’s success stands out amidst the poor performance of many candidates in the exam. Out of the 1.8 million candidates who took the exam, a staggering 1.4 million scored below 200 marks out of 400.
Olukayode’s remarkable achievements occur during a period when faith in public schools’ educational offerings is rapidly diminishing, while certain private schools proudly proclaim themselves as the most exorbitant in the nation.
Born in 2009, Olukayode aspires to pursue a degree in Electrical electronics at the esteemed University of Ilorin, located in Kwara State.
In addition to attributing all glory to God, his mother, Beatrice Tosin, also commends her child’s diligent and industrious disposition.
