Kano APC Suspends National Chairman, Ganduje
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has been suspended by his ward in Ganduje, Kano State.
Reports on Monday, April 15, revealed Ganduje’s ward in DawakinTofa local government area of Kano State suspended the APC National Chairman on allegation of corruption.
The legal adviser of the ward, Haladu Gwanjo, stated that Ganduje was accused of gross misconduct and misappropriation of public funds during his time as the Governor of Kano.
The ward’s Executive members decided to suspend Ganduje’s membership after a vote of no confidence was passed on him, as he has been unable to clear his name from various corruption allegations, including the widely circulated video where he allegedly received dollars as a bribe from a contractor.
“We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him,” Gwanzo stated.
According to him, Ganduje’s suspension is effective from Monday, 15 April 2024, until the former governor of the state clears himself from the allegations.
