“It’s Normal to Fall”: Nigerians React to Tinubu’s Slip
Nigerians have taken to social media to react to a video showing President Bola Tinubu slipping while boarding the presidential parade vehicle at Eagles Square in Abuja.
Earlier, the President slipped while climbing the parade truck at the 2024 Democracy Day event.
As he approached the vehicle, he momentarily lost his footing but quickly regained his balance with the help of his security aides.
Despite the slip, the President continued with the proceedings, marking the country’s Democracy Day celebration.
Social media reactions varied, with some mocking the President while others downplayed the incident, emphasizing his quick recovery.
Àràkunrin Olabisi (@OlabisiLaw) said, “It’s normal to fall. The most important thing was to rise again, which he firmly did. Nigeria will rise and be great again.”
On X.com, @xfactum commented, “People are really looking for this man’s downfall.”
Maibitil Mni (@Maibitil_) tweeted, “National Disgrace on National TV at Democracy Day. After blowing lies on TV, his body no fit to hold those lies rather chooses to go down lowwwwwww for a minute.”
@dammygtnet wrote, “I will never laugh at this. This can happen to anyone. Even Joe Biden once experienced the same. My issue with President Tinubu is about his insensitive policies, which the populace is suffering from. He should do better or be booted out.”
@Mr_francis55 expressed concern, “Oh no, God. Hope he didn’t injure himself.”
@DrJHHyat added, “I hope Mr. President is fine. The state of the economy came to mind.”
Andre (@Andree22_00) noted, “Instead of you people to say sorry to him. You are laughing. It can happen to anyone.”
@OgechukwuChime mocked, “Tinubu fall yakata. France hospital calling tomorrow.”
Abiola (@Harbihorla4) defended, “Children of hate everywhere, it’s no big deal, it happens everywhere.”
