Ikeja Electric Announces New Electricity Tariff For Band A Customers
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company has announced a reduction in the tariff payable by its Band A customers.
The spokesperson for the company, Olufadeke Omo-Omorodion, confirmed in a statement made available to journalists that the new tariff of N206.80 per kilowatt-hour will take effect from Monday, May 6, 2024.
This decision only applies to Band A customers, while the tariffs for customers in other bands will remain unchanged. The company has also assured Band A customers of a minimum of 20-hour daily power supply. This tariff reduction comes in response to public outcry and criticism from various stakeholders regarding the previous tariff increase.
Nation Post reports that Ikeja Electric released a notice to its customers, informing them of the downward tariff review and the guaranteed availability of 20-24 hours of power supply daily for Band A feeders.
It is important to note that the tariffs for Bands B, C, D, and E will not be affected by this change.
The Ikeja Electric statement reads: “Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kwh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily.”
The tariffs for Bands B, C, D, and E remain unchanged.
