Gov Sanwo-Olu’s Deputy Chief Of Staff Is Dead

The government of Lagos State is in mourning. Gboyega Soyannwo, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, passed away following a brief illness.
Reports made available to journalists on Wednesday evening indicate that he collapsed on Tuesday and was taken to the hospital, where he later died today.
Soyannwo, who was said to have suffered from a stroke, was 55 years old at the time of his death. Born on October 3, 1968, he attended Corona School Victoria Island for his primary education from 1974 to 1980, followed by Kings College, Lagos for his secondary education from 1980 to 1985.
He then pursued his A-Levels at the Federal School of Arts & Science, completing them in 1987. Subsequently, he was admitted to the University of Lagos, graduating in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons.) Degree in Economics.
Additionally, Gboyega Soyannwo obtained an MBA in General Management from Lagos Business School.
As a Youth Corp member, Soyannwo commenced his professional journey at the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1992.
Subsequently, he gained valuable experience and held various positions in esteemed institutions such as Financial Services Consultants Limited, STACO Insurance Plc., National Bank Of Nigeria Limited (now WEMA Bank Plc), Zenith Bank Plc., and Oceanic Bank International Plc (now Eco Bank Plc.).
In December 2009, he concluded his tenure as the Group Head – Commercial Banking at Oceanic Bank International Plc. He joined the First Class Group Limited as the Director of Finance and Strategy.
Gboyega dedicated his initial years in the banking industry to assuming roles that honed his leadership and talent management abilities. He consistently showcased his prowess as a resourceful problem solver, delivering exceptional results in efficiency, productivity, and work quality.
