Gov. Fubara Swears-In Caretaker LG Chairmen, Receives G-60 Applauds
The Governor of Rivers State has inaugurated the Caretaker Commitee Chairmen for the 23 Local Government Councils of the State.
He has immediately received the applauds of opposition Federal Lawmakers under the aegis of G-60.
The ceremony of the inauguration commenced after the screening and confirmation of the caretaker Commitee Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.
While applauding Gov. Fubara for his giant steps, G-60 had in its statement recalled that the tenure of the dissolve council chairmen in the 23 local government areas of Rivers State who were sworn in three years ago during Governor Nyesom Wike-led administration had expired on Monday, June 17, 2024.
G-60 however urged the newly sworn-in caretaker chairmen to wipe away the tears of Governor Fubara and the people of Rivers State who had suffered untold hardship in hands of their predecessors.
The statement noted that they past council allegedly abandoned their responsibilities and embarked on macabre dance while the people they were elected to serve were left to wallowed in pains.
