Fire Guts NNPCL Depot At Apapa, Lagos
A fire incident has been reported at the newly named NNPC Terminal, previously known as OVH, located on Kayode Street in the Marine Beach area of Lagos State.
Available information on Friday noon revealed that the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service stormed the scene, responding to the fire outbreak.
The fire is said to have originated from a spillage of petroleum products within the tank farm’s premises.
At the time of compiling this report, Margaret Adeseye, the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Fire Service, informed Channels Television that collaborative efforts were underway to bring the situation under control.
Various emergency responders from the oil and gas industry are actively involved in these efforts.
By 13:10 hours on Friday, the joint efforts of the emergency responders, coordinated by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, successfully extinguished the fire. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties.
Adeseye further stated that with the fire now extinguished, investigations into its cause can commence while the necessary clean-up operations continue.
