Coach Finidi George Resigns

Finidi George has stepped down from his role as the Super Eagles coach. The 53-year-old submitted his resignation to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Saturday.

According to reports, Finidi opted out following a decision by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to hire a foreign coach.

The reason behind the new coach is due to the team’s poor performance in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers.

Earlier, the former Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye announced the news on X.com, stating: “News just in. Finidi George #FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his #NGSuperEagles manager position.”

Finidi’s resignation comes just weeks into his tenure as coach of the Super Eagles.
