The Nigeria Defence Headquarters(DHQ) has expressed readiness to receive the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, his Royal Highness, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle.

According to DHQ it is honourable and delightful to accept and receive the renowned royalties into Africa’s biggest nation in May 2024.

In a statement, the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig Gen Tukur Gusau, said, “The visit is to consolidate Nigeria’s stronghold at the game and the possibility of hosting the event in later years.”

Nation Post confirmed that their stay in the country will include meeting with Service members and being hosted to a myriad of beautifully diversified cultural activities and programs.

Recall that Prince Harry, the Duke of Duchess, founded the Invictus Games, an international multi-sporting event that offers a recovery pathway for wounded, injured, and sick service men and women worldwide.

It also gives soldiers awareness and recognition in society to support their path in rehabilitation.

The Invictus Games had about 500 participants at the last outing, and 21 nations in attendance, including Nigeria, which made headway with gold and silver at its first outing last year.

“The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Badaru who was at Germany at last year’s event, has accepted to host the games when granted to Nigeria.”
