Democracy Day: Make Public Office Unattractive, LP Tells Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been told to make public offices unattractive. The statement was made today Wednesday by Labour Party, in Lagos State.
The statement was made by Labour Party national deputy chairman, Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN).
According to reports, the reaction by Labour Party was a response to the 25th anniversary democracy day address by President Bola Tinubu.
Dr. Olorunfemi said elections are marred by violence and unhealthy competition because public offices are too attractive.
He further stressed that the substantial resources used in running democracy prevent ordinary Nigerians from benefiting, putting constant pressure on the economy.
