Adamawa State Approves Additional 22.8Bn in Revised 2025 Budget

The Adamawa State Executive Council on Wednesday approved an additional N22.8 billion within the same 2025 budget N486.2 billion.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri presided over the council meeting in the Council Chamber of Adamawa state Government House, Yola.

The additions they explained will pave the way for fresh allocations to priority projects and government operations.

The State Commissioner of Budget, Mr Emmanuel Pridimso disclosed this to Government House Correspondents shortly after the council meeting.

A breakdown of the viaments indicates that N8 billion is earmarked for recurrent expenditure to cater for overheads, following the exhaustion of overhead allocations in most ministries due to rising operational costs.

According to the revised budget, N14.8 billion is allocated to capital projects, including the construction of a new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in the state at a cost of N2.04 billion, with an additional N199 million approved for consultancy services.

Other capital projects approved include the construction and upgrade of the State Amusement Park to modern standards at N3.4 billion, the 24-kilometre Maiha–Mubi Road at N3 billion, and a new 5-kilometre Mubi bypass road linking to the cattle market at N1.2 billion.

The Commissioner also revealed that the Council approved N800 million for various facelift projects in the Government House, Yola and N500 million for consultancy services towards the renovation of the State High Court (Lot 1A and 1B), and

In addition, the Council approved the procurement of one 1000 KVA Cummins Generator for the Government House at the cost of N650 million.

He clarified that the decision was taken to consolidate all viaments approved from January to date into a single document, which will be incorporated into the printed version of the revised 2025 budget.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Ayuba Audu, announced that the Council also approved N360 million for the upgrade of the Gulak Water Scheme in Madagali Local Government Area, which includes reticulation across 12.4 kilometres.

He emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving water supply, revealing that water projects are currently being executed in 17 local government areas across the state.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Neido Geoffrey, disclosed that the Council deliberated on the recent repatriation of 13 trafficked children from Adamawa who were rescued in Anambra State.

She cautioned parents and caregivers to closely monitor their children and avoid sending them on errands at odd hours, stressing that such incidents pose a grave threat to the wellbeing of residents across the state.
