US Tightens Student Visa Rules, Introduces Social Media Scrutiny

In a new move to prioritize immigration security, the US has introduced a social media scrutiny procedure.

US Student visa applicants must now disclose social media accounts as part of a new Visa vetting requirement.

According to reports, The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria now requires F, M, and J visa applicants; students and exchange visitors, to make their social media profiles public.

The new rule supports stricter vetting to verify identities and assess national security risks.

This change is effective immediately and aligns with the U.S. State Department’s updated policy.
