Iran Slams Sanction On US, UK For Supporting Israel In Ongoing War

In its efforts to address the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Iranian Government has recently implemented sanctions against a number of American and British individuals and entities.

Nation Post understands that the Islamic Republic’s foreign ministry officially announced these punitive measures in a statement.

The sanctions specifically targeted seven Americans, including General Bryan P. Fenton, who commands the US special operations command, and Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, a former commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet.

These penalties also affected British officials and entities, including Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps, commander of the British Army strategic command James Hockenhull, and the UK Royal Navy in the Red Sea.

Furthermore, the Iranian Government announced sanctions against US firms Lockheed Martin and Chevron, as well as British counterparts Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt, and Rafael UK.

The ministry has announced that the sanctions will involve freezing accounts and transactions in the Iranian financial and banking systems, freezing assets within the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and prohibiting visa issuance and entry into Iranian territory.

The impact of these measures on individuals, entities, and their assets or dealings with Iran remains uncertain.

It is worth noting that the conflict in the Gaza Strip began after Palestinian militants attacked Israel on October 7, resulting in the deaths of 1,170 people, primarily civilians.

While Iran supports Hamas, it has denied any direct involvement in the attack.

According to the health ministry in the Hamas-controlled territory, Israel’s retaliatory offensive against Hamas has resulted in the deaths of at least 34,568 people in Gaza, with the majority being women and children.
